You’re Not Enough

Casa da Cultura de EstarrejaYou’re Not Enough is a video work that sits with the uneasy emotions tied to imagining a “greener” future and the environmental cost that vision demands. The project turns its gaze to the changing terrain of Serra da Freita, where the construction of wind turbines for renewable energy has begun to redraw the landscape.

Structured as a series of quiet, lingering fragments, the video places the raw, elemental beauty of the mountains in tension with the ordered presence of the so-called wind turbine parks. In this friction between the organic and the engineered, the work asks viewers to think about what progress really looks like: how far we are willing to go in the name of sustainability, and what is altered—visibly and invisibly—in the process.
