Virtual

2016
White Cube, Porto, Portugal
Virtual was a performance piece that probed the idea of an “authentic” self in the age of social media. The work revolved around a live stream in which only my face was visible, held in a fixed frame. This tight, unmoving shot foregrounded the staged, edited quality of online personas, raising questions about where reality ends and digital self-fashioning begins.

Presented in 2016 at White Cube, Porto, Virtual used its stripped-back setup to open up space for reflection on how we compose and broadcast ourselves online. By reducing the action to a single, unchanging point of view, the work sharpened the tension between intimacy and distance, sincerity and performance, in a moment defined by perpetual visibility.
