Terra is a project grounded in my own lineage, born from a body that belongs both to the South and the North of Portugal. These two regions—anyone who knows the country will tell you—could not be more different in their landscapes, their atmospheres, their ways of being.

In this work, I approach identity at an intimate scale, stitching together these regional contrasts to generate something new. Familiar terrains are reworked into layered, overlapping silhouettes, a kind of hybrid topography that invites viewers to drift through it and locate their own sense of belonging within this reimagined land.

The video projection was presented in the group exhibition Time Lapse at Galeria de Arte Cinemática in Vila do Conde, and ran from 2017 to 2018.
