Ludmila Queirós is a Portuguese mixed-media artist and researcher based in Coimbra. Her practice invites us into immersive, mutable worlds, where the tempo of human experience tilts, slips and reconstitutes itself in unexpected ways. Steeped in literature and the natural world, Queirós threads poetic reflections on philosophical questions through her work, allowing them to surface as images, textures and atmospheres rather than statements.

In EPHEMERA, she turns her attention to the brief, luminous span of the mayfly’s life cycle, using it as a lens through which to consider the fragility and volatility of our own existence. The work stages an encounter with impermanence—not as tragedy, but as a condition from which a quiet, resonant beauty emerges—inviting us to sit with what is momentary, and to recognise the tenderness folded into its passing.
